2009 Moto Guzzi Stelvio 1200 4V Enduro Motorcycle

2009 Moto Guzzi Stelvio 1200 4V

The new Moto Guzzi Stelvio 1200 4V has been designed and developed to brave any destination, devouring kilometers of roads and even off-road surfaces. This multipurpose capability is evident at first glance .Inspired by off-road bikes, Stelvio 1200 4V breaks the traditional, austere look of models in this market segment by introducing new intense shapes and a dynamic energy that evokes the feeling of adventure, long routes, the most extreme use. Slender and streamlined in the lower part, highlighted by refined aluminium spoke wheels and the technology seen in the powertrain and final transmission, the Moto Guzzi Stelvio 1200 4V is compact and robust in the upper part, revealing the care taken to obtain the best ergonomics for the rider.
They are sculptured shapes that stress the numerous design details to respond to an active and intense use, such as the presence of a powerful double front headlight assembly, the windshield and the adjustable seat, the ample section of chassis guides, the aluminium exhaust silencer, the careful assessment for passenger and luggage transport.
This design concept has been designed to stress the throbbing heart of Stelvio 1200 4V, the unmistakable 90° transversal V-twin engine in its most functional “quattrovalvole” (four valves) version. The Stelvio 1200 4V is strong, powerful, and dominant in its action.

Stelvio 1200 4V marks the return of Moto Guzzi to the Maxi-Enduro segment, a motorcycle concept developed on the echoes of the great popularity of African marathons. An austere motorcycle, dominated by impressive tanks strongly integrated to the fairings that extend until the engine is almost hidden, by the undoubtedly fascinating as well as irrational image when adventure does not have the equator as its horizon, but just crossing an urban centre or riding along main roads leading towards weekend or holiday destinations.
Starting from this premise, Moto Guzzi has developed a stylistic idea as a countertrend, highlighting the dynamic energy expressed by the mechanics and the chassis at sight, with tight-fitting panels, with clean cuts and sharp lines, able to give the vehicle a sensation of lightness and power, in an ensemble of solid elegance and class. Stelvio 1200 4V immediately captivates with its front end look- two side-by-side headlamps with convex lens create a three-dimension effect that makes the machine look compact, also helped by the effect created by the satin reinforcement in anthracite colour. This solution is also applied to the mudguard and tank rear, which not only creates an original aesthetic design but also protects surfaces from gravel as well as reinforces the image of a vehicle resistant even under the most demanding situations.

The light fairing emphasizes numerous prismal elements and concave surfaces, and a careful aerodynamic study is perceived at the assembly formed by the adjustable shield on the top fairing plus the contoured but capacious tank. An evident characteristic in the front view is the predominance of two auxiliary air deflectors highlighted with silver paintwork and metal louvers, designed to direct fresh air to cylinders. The top fairing, matching the double headlight assembly, forms a shape that deviates the aerodynamic load when riding at high speeds. The peculiar blow molding technology was used to produce the tank and helps to minimize dimensions and weight according to the (18-litre) capacity. Moreover, it includes a fantastic glove-box that can be unlocked from the handlebar and is atop the saddle, which, by covering the grooves, avoids direct contact with the rider's legs to ensure superior riding comfort. Once you are seated on the saddle, finely upholstered with non-slip material, it is quite noticeable there is more space for both rider and passenger's comfort. The rider saddle height can be adjusted to two positions, 820 mm or 840 mm from the ground, whereas the passenger, besides being seated on a thick and spacious seat, can count on a solid and comfortable handhold seat strap. Even more aggressive from the forecarriage, the rear end look is dominated by the hi-tech aspect of the rear light with complex surface curve and LEDs, and by an important enhanced aluminium double tail silencer that evokes solidness and power.

2009 Ducati Multistrada 1100 Sport Motorcycle

2009 Ducati Multistrada 1100

The Multistrada 1100 widens the horizons of all those who are 'sport motorcyclists' at heart but still want a bike they can use seven days a week. Riding a Multistrada makes every road a thrill. The punchy 1100 Desmo L-Twin engine with smoother, more tractable power, coupled with a refined chassis, delivers confident handling and optimal comfort, even over long distances.
The unmistakable Ducati Trellis frame combines with a fully-adjustable suspension that allows the rider to adapt the bike for any road condition and every riding style.
Superb road holding, a powerful 1100 engine and all day comfort gives the versatile Multistrada a unique personality and true Ducati character.

The Multistrada family
The Multistrada family of sport bikes excel on every road you challenge with amazing sports performance, outstanding comfort and everyday-use versatility. Ideal for a day in the mountains, the daily commute or a weekend tour, the Multistrada offers sport bike aggression on twisty roads, yet is smooth and relaxed when scenery beckons.
Developed on the winding mountain roads and city streets of Italy, the Multistrada is a real-world motorcycle for real-world riders, a dream come true, a high performance sports bike that doesn't compromise comfort, versatility or practicality.
The Multistrada breaks down all barriers. Its unique versatility is a matter of design. On mountain roads its impressive cornering performance comes by way of Superbike-spec suspension, world-class brakes and its renowned Ducati Trellis frame. For extended journeys, the longer travel suspension smoothes the way, vibration isolated handlebars reduce fatigue and the relaxed riding position optimises comfort for both rider and passenger. In town the agile chassis, wide bars and broad power of the 1100 engine make crossing busy city traffic an adventure to look forward to.
It is this extreme versatility and all-round performance that prompted magazines to nominate the Multistrada as "Bike of the year" in the street segment.
For the 2009 the Multistrada is available in two versions: the impressive Multistrada 1100 finished in red and, for those who demand 'S' version sport performance, the Multistrada 1100 S in red, black or in the new pearl white colour.

2009 Ducati Monster 696 Supersport Motorcycle

2009 Ducati Monster 696

The new Ducati Monster 696 is the next generation naked and the final word in urban excitement. Ride the Monster 696 around your favorite downtown routes in relaxed style or, when the spirit moves you, unleash its dark side to deliver more naked performance than ever before.
A comfortable and confidence-inspiring chassis combines with the famously smooth and powerful Ducati L-Twin engine to provide the most enjoyable riding experience. The balance of new technologies expressed in stylishly finished materials is shaped around the original cool Monster heritage.
The Monster 696 strikes a carefully designed balance between performance and every-day usability, appealing to a wide range of riders as a result.
With identical chassis technology to Ducati's World Championship MotoGP bike and the proven power and flexibility of the legendary Ducati L-Twin engine, the Monster 696 is as comfortable in city traffic as it is on the open road.
And that's the 696's strength; it can go where your mood takes you. Saint or sinner? You decide. The 696 delivers both.
The riding position of the Monster 696 has been specifically designed to put the rider firmly in control. From the low 770mm (30.3in) seat height, the easy-to-reach handlebar position to the feather-light controls, every rider finds it easy to master.
Visually simple digital instrumentation provides an array of data on command or, at a glance, just speed and revs. Information available at the rider's fingertip control include: scheduled maintenance warning, oil temperature, air temperature, trip odometer, lap time, fuel reserve, warning light for low oil pressure, turn signals, over-rev warning, immobilizer and neutral warning light. The system is also ready for DDA (Ducati Data Analyser which is the official Ducati Data Acquisition System). All this information can be accessed without the rider having to remove a hand from the handlebar as the scroll function is ingeniously mounted on the left-hand handlebar switchgear.
The heavily tapered and deeply sculpted fuel tank cover allows maximum comfort and control. The narrowing of the 'waist' area of 696 has the same effect as lowering the seat height, making it easier for more riders to get both feet flat on the floor. Compared to previous models, the 696 has a completely new ride position allowing superior control and offering increased levels of comfort.
Careful attention to every detail has led to a substantial weight saving making the Monster 696 the lightest bike in its class at an impressive 161kg (355lb) dry.
Passenger comfort and safety are also carefully considered, with neat, under-seat grab handles moulded into the seat unit itself. This solution maximises pillion security whilst not detracting from the legendary Monster 696 styling.
HEADLIGHT: The compact triple-parabola headlight on the Monster 696 utilises the latest optical technology and advanced construction techniques to provide one of the most diminutive lighting packages in the market place today. Viewed from the side its discrete silhouette mimics the radical shape of the fuel tank
This attention to the abbreviated has not diminished the lighting performance, however. A broad and deep spread of light makes night-time riding far easier than you'd ever imagine.
AIRBOX AND FUEL CELL: Using the latest moulding techniques to their full has allowed not only more fuel to be carried than previous models but for the all-important airbox to hold a larger volume of cool, power-rich fresh air.
Hidden beneath a quickly detachable plastic tank 'skin' lives the fuel cell and integrated airbox. Fuel capacity is an improved 15 litres (3.8 US gal) while the airbox holds 10 litres (2.6 US gal) of filtered air.
With fuel carried between the frame rails in an innovative fuel cell, what you see as the traditional 'fuel tank' are, in fact, covers. This clever solution allows easy replacement in the event of damage and makes changing the colour and style of your Monster 696 quicker and easier than ever before.
MIRRORS: The low, sleek and aerodynamic rear-view mirrors accentuate the curves and lines of the handlebars and fuel tank outline. The mirrors give a clear view behind without interfering with the Monster 696's good looks.
LED REAR LIGHT: An LED rear light unit satisfies the minimalist, weight saving design ethos found throughout the Monster 696. The specially designed strip of LEDs are enhanced by a special diffuser lens to deliver outstanding light clarity and incredible longevity.
EXHAUST SYSTEM: Providing a deep and rich exhaust tone within current noise and emissions regulations is no mean feat, but the Monster 696 definitely provides the L-Twin sound famous of Ducati. Its bold, high-level twin mufflers also make a striking style statement. Two pleasing advantages of the intricate high-level exhaust routing has been a healthy increase in both power and torque and a discrete positioning for the two exhaust-mounted Lambda exhaust gas sensors - so crucial for the optimisation of the fuelling and emission regulations.
The new exhaust pipe positioning also removes the effects of unwanted heat from the rider's lower body and makes the machine slimmer for optimised footrest positioning thus improving comfort.
GULLWING FORK CLAMPS: Just like Ducati's all conquering race bikes, the Monster 696 features incredibly strong gull-wing shaped fork clamps. Designed to provide immense torsional strength these engineering masterpieces dominate the front of the bike, further adding to the squat and purposeful styling.

2009 Ducati Hypermotard 1100 Sport Standard Motorcycle

2009 Ducati Hypermotard 1100

The Hypermotard takes on urban canyons and mountain curves with total abandon. Its purpose is single-minded - to thrill.
The aggressive 'motard' styling and stance combine with Ducati 'Superbike' technology to deliver the best of both worlds. With a riding position that ensures total control, the exceptionally slim and incredibly light Hypermotard is ready to dominate every inch of asphalt with big-bore acceleration and dynamic road holding that redefines the street experience.
High performance starts with attitude and the Hypermotard is the most aggressive motorcycle in the Ducati family. Reduced to its essentials - it is extreme, untamed, over-the-top and always hungry for the next challenge. It offers what no ordinary supermotard can - speeds exceeding 125mph on the race track, fuel injection, and 90 Desmo hp - all combined in an unmistakable Ducati package offering unbridled passion for motorcycles that are truly unique and exhilarating.
The Road Ahead Sets the Challenge
When first unveiled the Hypermotard won instant praise. Just hours after its launch it was awarded "Best of Show" and motorcyclists the world over now understand why.
By taking the minimalist supermotard racing concept, then adding Ducati's unrivaled twin-cylinder power and Superbike technology, the Hypermotard delivers a remarkable experience. The Hypermotard 1100 is extreme and thrilling to ride every day of the week. It turns familiar roads into an all new heart-thumping experience.
Taking its attitude into the city or the mountains with a street smart confidence and no respect for conformity, the Hypermotard is ready for any challenge.
The Hypermotard 1100 is powered by the incredible Ducati two-valve, air-cooled, Desmodromic Dual Spark engine, giving it outstanding power delivery, from a grunt at low rpm to a singing howl at redline. The Hypermotard 1100 engine flexes its muscles with a 98mm bore and short 71.5mm stroke to make 90 horses and 76 pounds of torque.
Compact and purposeful, the Desmo Twin engine's light weight and narrow L-Twin layout, no wider than a single cylinder, ensures that the bike is lean and agile. The air-cooled design eliminates all the water radiators, hoses, valves, reservoirs and pumps, keeping the motorcycle's weight down to a minimum 390lb (177kg) and its lines clean and race-like.
Two spark plugs per cylinder, Dual Spark, optimises combustion temperatures and increases maximum power and torque throughout the rev range, enhancing reliability and reducing fuel consumption. Power is optimized with fuel injected into 45mm throttle bodies and a 2-1-2 exhaust system that exits high behind the rear of the saddle.
In keeping with its extreme character, engineers chose the Ducati 'dry' racing-style clutch for the Hypermotard, the popular choice of thousands of Ducatisti the world over.
With more experience and success with twin-cylinder high performance engines than any other manufacturer in the modern era; the air-cooled L-Twin remains central to Ducati's philosophy of motorcycling. This experience, plus constant investment in quality by design, advanced materials and engineering techniques, has enabled the distance between service intervals to increase to 7,500 miles (12,000km).

HYOSUNG ALPHA SPORT GV250 CRUISER MOTORCYCLE

HYOSUNG ALPHA SPORT GV250 CRUISER MOTORCYCLE

AlphaSports may be a relative newcomer to the cruiser market, but its GV250 Classic reveals a build quality on par with that of major OEMs. The bike has been manufactured by Hyosung Motors and Machinery Inc. in South Korea for the European and Asian market for several years—and now Hyosung builds the GV250 to AlphaSports' specifications for the U.S. market, too.

In classic cruiser fashion, the GV250 displays its 249cc engine with V-twin cylinders splayed 75 degrees apart. The technology's not all retro, though—each cylinder is fed by four valves operated by dual overhead cams, with two Mikuni carbs performing mixing duties. The entire valanced, low-slung package is held together by a tubular double-cradle chassis with an oil cooler hung just above the forward cylinder. Beefy, stacked shotgun exhausts allow spent gases to exit on the right.

The front fork is shrouded in chrome, and two preload-adjustable springs support a broad, well-padded saddle a mere 25 inches from the ground. The reach to the low, wide bar and a near upright seating position allows long in-saddle moments; good thing, too, since the 3.7-gallon fuel tank will have you on the road for close to 200 miles. A beefy (for this crew) 16-inch front wheel dons a 110/90-16 tire under what is arguably the largest front fender in the class. Not surprisingly, the rear fender is also the longest in the group. The bike rolls on tubeless, 150-series rear rubber that covers an aluminum-cast wheel—the widest here. A five-speed transmission smoothly engages a chain final drive.

The GV250 incorporates the fat-fendered style currently in vogue with cruisers, and the level of the Alpha's fit, finish and styling gets high marks. The wide handlebar and forward-placed footpegs put you in almost the same ergonomic position as, say, a Road Star. It looks brawny for a 250, but first-timers needn't be intimidated—the Alpha weighs in under 385 pounds.

Though cold-blooded at first crank, the mill elicits a pleasant twin-cylinder thrum once warmed. Normal throttle application with timely gear changes produces 60 mph without much effort, and on the road, all testers agreed that the unflappable Hyosung engine encouraged throttle-wringing. Riding this bike emphasized how roomy the cockpit was compared to the Japanese bikes—even our 6-footers felt at home with the Alpha's spread-out ergos, and long-time veterans were pleasantly surprised by its easy manners.

The same setup can create trouble in traffic, though. Two of the smaller testers needed time to get used to the weight of the handlebar, with its fat tire, at walking speeds. The single 10.4-inch front disc brake delivered good stopping power, but didn't provide much feedback—rookies felt its double-piston caliper was adequate in town, but larger and more experienced riders felt there was room for improvement.

On straightaways, the Alpha delivered its power without fuss through the gears, even at higher speeds, where three testers said they approached the 80 mph mark with very little complaint. A few riders commented that the fully equipped instrument cluster (speedo, tach, fuel gauge and idiot lights) was a welcome sight compared to the Japanese bikes' uniformly underwhelming instrumentation.

The Alpha may have a larger profile than the others, but save for a complaint about heavy steering, there was nothing but praise for the plump machine. Everyone agreed it was the only one that seemed like an "honest-to-goodness cruiser." Even as the second most expensive bike of the quintet at $3599, three out of five testers chose the Alpha as their pick for best all-around lightweight. Japan Inc. should take heed.

2009 Piaggio MP3 500 Scooter Motorcycle

2009 Piaggio MP3 500 Scooter Motorcycle

The three wheel revolution progresses even further with the MP3 500. With aggressive styling and performance, the Piaggio MP3 500 is the three-wheeler for people who want to stand out. ‘Safe fun’ is no longer an oxymoron. Riding has never been this easy, enjoyable and secure. Two front wheels and a revolutionary parallelogram front suspension together with the new double ignition Master 500ie engine give the MP3 500 very racy performance while remaining exceptionally safe.

Design
The MP3 500’s innovative looks are striking. The front end of the MP3 500 has a decisive shape that expresses strength and character and hints at the incredible performance of the all-new 492cc single cylinder engine. The front two wheels are marked by a steel tube bumper with metal mesh inserts that give the vehicle a rugged look. The front design protects the rider and the mechanicals while putting the unique front suspension technology on display. Other touches are the sleek ‘naked’ metal handlebar and black ten-spoke wheel rims. The five-lamp headlight unit is not only striking to look at but highly effective as well; the two biggest lamps are equipped with off-road-style shockproof covers. The front fairing and front shield fairing offer remarkable aerodynamic protection. There is a wide, comfortable footrest panel behind the front shield fairing.

The tail design is stark and minimalist, a mix of plastics and tubes that picks up on the styling of the front with a very useful rear rack, while the wide, comfortable seat ensures total comfort for both rider and passenger thanks to its ergonomic design and negligible height difference between the two parts of the seat.

A thrilling ride
But there’s more than design to the personality of the MP3 500. The latest product from the Piaggio brand boasts top engine performance, ideally backed up by revolutionary running gear to provide astonishing ride quality. The Piaggio MP3 500 streaks away from traffic lights and takes all kinds of terrain in its stride, handling twisty mountain roads and long rides in all safety whatever the weather conditions thanks to its two front wheels commanded by an extraordinary parallelogram front suspension. This revolutionary technical set-up ensures impeccable road holding in all riding conditions, with stability and braking power that no conventional scooter can provide.

Technology
The steel tube frame conceals the powerful, reliable new Master 500 i.e. double ignition engine, a four-valve, four-stroke unit with electronic injection and liquid cooling. The capacity of the new Master engine has been upped to 492cc to obtain maximum power of 40 hp at 7,250 rpm and maximum torque of over 42 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The introduction of the twin spark system has also made it possible to optimize combustion inside the cylinder, with a reduction in noise and gas emissions. The result is a smooth, high-performance engine, very torquey at low and medium range rpm, that takes the Piaggio MP3 500 to a top speed of nearly 90 mph while fully respecting U.S. emissions standards thanks to the advanced closed loop injection circuit with a Lambda sensor and three-way catalytic converter in the exhaust pipe.

The engine’s power is skillfully managed by the sophisticated running gear. The innovative parallelogram front suspension’s tilt mechanism is composed of four cast aluminum arms, with four hinges fixed to the central tube and two guide tubes on either side of the parallelogram, connected to the arms via suspension pins and ball bearings. This means that the Piaggio MP3 500 is as easy to ride as a traditional scooter, while its incredible stability, especially when cornering and braking, comes from its two front wheels.

Standard equipment includes an electro-hydraulic front suspension locking system that keeps the MP3 500 upright without a central stand. This makes it extremely easy to park anywhere. What’s more, there’s no need to put your feet on the ground to keep your balance when stopped at a traffic light.

Optimal rear end stability is guaranteed by a 14” rear wheel with a generous 140/70 tire, while three 240mm disk brakes with dual-piston calipers ensure fast, efficient braking.

With its strong personality, aggressive design and cutting-edge technology, this three-wheeler is ready to ride into uncharted territory.

Innovation goes extreme in this MP3, with it’s 500cc, electronic injection Master engine.
The MP3’s revolutionary parallelogram front suspension ensures impeccable road holding in all riding conditions.

2009 Piaggio MP3 400 Scooter Motorcycle

2009 Piaggio MP3 400Scooter Motorcycle

The Piaggio MP3, the three-wheel scooter that recently revolutionized personal transport by redefining the entire concept of ride stability, has grown to a 400cc displacement to offer unprecedented performance and safety. Fun, nimble and agile, the Piaggio MP3 400 i.e. handles curves with extraordinary safety and road holding that only the MP3 can manage, while providing all the power and distance range of a real touring maxi scooter.

The Piaggio MP3 has upped its engine capacity to offer increased performance together with a safe, fun ride. The new Master 400 engine—a four-stroke, four-valve unit with liquid cooling and electronic injection, provides a 34 hp power output at 7,500 rpm and torque of 38 Nm at 5,500 rpm. These performance figures translate into smooth, full power output at any engine speed, with response and acceleration at the top of the category. This makes it possible for the Piaggio MP3 400 i.e. to handle all kinds of riding, from town traffic to city bypass roads and tougher out-of-town roads in total comfort and safety even when riding with a passenger and a full load. Extra power and full-bodied torque become available at low engine rpm and are in fact crucial at critical moments like overtaking, when the Master 400 i.e. engine’s acceleration and throttle response together with the exceptional stability of the two-wheel front suspension let the rider pull away fast and safely.

In addition to the many technical advantages of the new Master 400 engine, the rider also enjoys reduced fuel consumption compared to larger capacity scooters, but the same “maxi” performance.

The Piaggio MP3 400 i.e. is truly an all-round scooter. On town rides, the Piaggio MP3 400 i.e. handles cobblestones, train tracks and irregular roads with the greatest of ease and stays stable and safe on wet roads as well. The exceptionally large underseat storage bay (which holds two full-face helmets), the wraparound protection of the wide front shield and the excellent cruising speed make this the ideal vehicle for long-distance as well as tougher rides.

The new 400cc engine also adds substantial advantages as regards the running gear: the use of the new engine and a 14” rear wheel with a 140/70 tire on the Piaggio MP3 400 i.e. has increased the wheelbase by a good 2.5 inches compared to the 250 cc version.

The result is impeccable stability when leaning into fast curves or when braking thanks to the longer rear end, increased rear wheel contact surface and outstanding road grip provided by the innovative parallelogram front suspension built to an original Piaggio design. Its tilt mechanism is composed of four cast aluminum arms, with four hinges fixed to the central tube and two guide tubes on either side of the parallelogram, connected to the arms via suspension pins and ball bearings.

The high strength tubular steel frame of the Piaggio MP3 400 is the result of a design project based on the latest CAD technology and computerized FEM (Finite Element Method) analysis. All aspects of the frame, including its structural strength and weight were defined and thoroughly tested at the very beginning of the project, and the validity of the solutions adopted were verified at every stage of the process.

Comfortable and innovative with exceptional performance, the Piaggio MP3 400 i.e. will appeal to novice riders as well as seasoned motorcyclists, as it combines enjoyment and ease of use with unprecedented safety.

The MP3 250 and MP3 400 redefines the entire concept of ride stability. With three ground contact points and a shock absorber on each wheel, the MP3 swallows bumps with incredible efficiency.

  • Single cylinder, four-stroke Piaggio Master engine
  • Electro-hydraulic suspension locking system

The PIAGGIO MP3 provides safety, road grip and stability levels that no two-wheeler can match. Its power, performance and ease of use make for a very entertaining ride.
The two independent, tilting front wheels of the PIAGGIO MP3 re-define the very concept of ride stability to provide an unprecedented riding experience. Take on wet or patchy asphalt, cobblestone streets, train tracks and other tough riding conditions with more confidence and ease than a traditional two-wheeler.
With its compact super-scooter size and exceptional manoeuvrability, the PIAGGIO MP3 is at home in town traffic. It’s a cinch to park: an electro-hydraulic suspension locking system means there is no need to put the vehicle on its stand. The PIAGGIO MP3 is equally comfortable when heading out of town. Its road grip, cornering safety and tilt angle are unprecedented for a scooter, adding to the pleasure of riding different road surfaces at high speed.
The PIAGGIO MP3 frame in high-tensile steel tubes is the result of the best CAD (Computer Aided Design) technology and computerized FEM (Finite Element Method) analysis. Elements such as frame strength and weight were precisely defined and tested from the initial phases of the project, with the suitability of each solution checked at every stage.
The innovative parallelogram suspension, an original Piaggio design, is anchored to the frame. The tilt mechanism is composed of four cast-aluminium control arms with four hinges fixed to the central tube and two guide tubes on either side of the parallelogram and is connected to the arms via suspension pins and ball bearings. The tubes on the right and left enclose the steering tube in a classic single arm setup.
The rear of the MP3 features a singlearm suspension with two dual effect hydraulic shock absorbers, a helicoidal spring and four-position preload.
Besides its exceptional stability, the PIAGGIO MP3 also provides brilliant braking thanks to three powerful linked brakes, 240 mm in diameter, and the parallelogram suspension. The result is record deceleration (about 8 m per second) with braking space reduced by over 20 per cent on normal road surfaces and as much as 24 per cent on slippery roads compared to a traditional two-wheel scooter.
The PIAGGIO MP3 comes equipped with the Piaggio Quasar 250 i.e. engine. The Quasar 250 i.e. is the all-new Piaggio four-stroke, four-valve, liquid-cooled engine that meets Euro 3 standards, exceeding even the U.S. EPA and CARB standards. The new Quasar electronic injection series is the result of the Piaggio engine division’s commitment to creating a truly top quality, environment-friendly engine. The advanced closed loop injection with a Lambda sensor, together with a three-way catalytic converter and electronic ignition control system, considerably reduces emissions as well as fuel consumption and provides immediate throttle response. As a result, the PIAGGIO MP3 is fun to ride, quick off the mark in town traffic and comfortable with short motorway trips as well as extended touring.
The MP3 250 redefines the entire concept of ride stability. With three ground
contact points and a shock absorber on each wheel, the MP3 swallows bumps with incredible efficiency.

2009 Vespa LX 150 Scooter Motorcycle

2009 Vespa LX 150 Scooter Motorcycle

Take a new spin on an original classic. From the same pedigree as the first Vespa prototype built by Piaggio in 1946, the LX is 60 years in the making. Witness the evolution of style, comfort, and performance with the core values of Vespa that never change: eco-friendly engineering, passion, individualism, and integrity.
With the Vespa LX, you'll quickly see commuting in a whole new light. Commuting and errands can be everything from mundane to frustrating. Be amazed by how those bothersome, everyday scenarios become a lot more fun when you surround yourself with the style, performance and safety that is the Vespa LX.
Congestion is for everyone else. Zip through traffic with a low center of gravity and a larger front wheel (11" front-10" back), which provides more control and agility. And your posture has never looked better. The ergonomically-designed seat allows for your legs and arms to be held at correct angles and your torso straight, for a comfortable ride.
The Vespa LX is offered in a 50CC and a roaring 150CC version. So take life at the speed you want. The LX 150 lets you do an impressive highway like 59 mph to get you where you want to go, fast.
Brake at a red light with confidence, with the LX's advanced mixed-type braking system. The front has a 7.8" diameter disc, with hydraulic linkage and a dual opposed piston hydraulic caliper. The back has a 4.3" diameter drum with mechanical linkage.
What a view! See exactly where you're going with a wide arc front headlight. A halogen headlamp provides strong illumination even at night. Shine during the day too, as the LX returns to the classic rounded Vespa rear light. Control the lights and view other traditional functions on the elegantly-designed dashboard.
During the day let people soak in the personality of your new Vespa. Clean lines, elegant colors, sophisticated chrome linings and a modern sense of style-it's all in the details.
A load bearing, single-steel chassis combined with a high-performance engine keeps Vespa in a class of its own. A single chassis ensures nimble handling and guarantees that the only thing longer about your ride is the extended LX lifespan.

2009 Vespa GTV 250 Scooter Motorcycle

2009 Vespa GTV 250 Scooter Motorcycle

The GTV models celebrate 60 years of the most legendary two-wheeler of all time by re-introducing the trademark Vespa styling and features from the 50s and 60s models.
A few years after it was originally launched, Vespa would come to symbolize Europe's post-war reconstruction. Over the decades, it would become an icon of youth culture and an emblem of Italian style and design worldwide. Now, 60 years on, the Vespa continues to be an innovative product and an example of industrial design par excellence in terms of styling and production technology.
Cleverly re-interpreting some of the traditional design and technical elements of vintage Vespas, particularly 1950s and 1960s models, the Vespa GTV pay homage to this iconic product, the result of pure Italian creativity and industrial culture.
Developed on the base of, respectively, the Vespa GTS and LX, the Vespa GTV and LXV have a distinct vintage look, but include automatic transmissions and eco-friendly, modern engines. The GTV utilizes a powerful 250cc four-valve, liquid-cooled engine with electronic injection, a double rear shock absorber and 12" wheels stopped by two disk brakes. The LXV is built around the LX engine, a 150cc four-stroke engine. Both models feature a single steel chassis, as all Vespas have since their inception.
Developed on the base of the GTS, the GTV features several distinctive stylistic details, namely the headlamp which has been positioned on the front mudguard, as it was on the very first Vespa prototype. The headlamp moved up by the handlebars on mid 50s models, and is back on the mudguard for this special vintage model. Additional features evoke the original Vespa as well, such as the 'naked' handlebar (the prototype had a simple, metal tube) and the dual-seat saddle which is made of genuine leather and houses storage space suitable for your helmet. The round analog speedometer has relatively retro graphics, plus a digital ride information display, further emphasizing the combination of historical elements and modern technology on this unique vehicle.

2009 Vespa LXV 150 Scooter Motorcycle

2009 Vespa LXV 150 Scooter Motorcycle

The Vespa LXV models celebrate 60 years of the most legendary two-wheeler of all time by re-introducing the trademark Vespa styling and features from the 50s and 60s models.

Developed on the base of the 2005 Vespa LX, the LXV was designed as a tribute to the 1960s Vespas. The updates to the LXV are on the accessory parts to the metal body, such as the headlamp and handlebars. The headlamp remains in its original position on the handlebar, like the 1960s scooters from which the Vespa LXV is derived, but in a slimmer, more minimalist version to emphasise the 'naked' handlebar and to give the front of the vehicle a more lightweight look. The analog instrumentation is placed in a chrome-plated frame while the unique graphics resemble those in vogue in the 1960s. Real leather is used on the saddle, which is designed with a separate passenger seat just as on the early Vespa models, underneath which is a storage compartment.

2009 Vespa GTS 250 Scooter Motorcycle

2009 Vespa GTS 250 Scooter Motorcycle

A few design changes have been made to add fluidity and dynamism to the look of the GTS, combining the Vespa's classic, exclusive look and maneuverability with the performance and technological prowess of big touring scooters. From the front, the Vespa GTS is instantly recognizable by the position of the headlight placed midway down the shield next to the horn, reminiscent of 1950s Vespas, which had a small lamp on the mudguard. The impeccably finished, double-stitched saddle adds a racy touch while improving the comfort of the ride.
The GTS also features a combination digital/analog dashboard-simple and stylish, the LCD display includes a fuel gauge, a rev counter bar, full and partial mileage, a digital clock with the date, an outside air temperature gauge and a coolant temperature gauge. Analog instruments include a speedometer and a comprehensive set of warning lights: turn signals, position and high beam lights, oil pressure, fuel reserve, the immobilizer LED light and the injection control LED light.
While its natural riding position and ergonomics have always made the Vespa comfortable, the seat on the GTS has a new shape and material for an even better ride. Carrying some bags? A rear luggage rack comes standard, and the underseat storage opens with the press of a button, making those spontaneous trips out of town convenient and hard to resist.

2009 Vespa S Scooter Motorcycle

2009 Vespa S Scooter Motorcycle

Sport, energy and originality are the trademarks of the all-new Vespa S. With its clean, essential lines, the Vespa S is a minimalist version of the legendary seventies models, and proof that the young spirit of Vespa is still very much alive.
The handlebar fairing houses a new rectangular headlight reminiscent of the amazing 50 Special. The front shield is more impressive too, with a new, aggressive looking air intake.
Reduced in size to reveal the layout of the suspension, the new shape mudguard also features a stylish chrome trim for an even sleeker look. The small size of the mudguard leaves the wheel and light alloy rim in full view in a tribute to the performance and high-tech design of the Vespa S.
The element that has seen most change is the front shield. Its clean styling recovers the pure lines that have always been the Vespa's trademark. The shield's uncluttered surface is fundamental and its simplicity and minimal thickness powerful design features.
The seat is typically '70s in styling and comes standard with the 'Sport' seat. The seat is upholstered in new materials and enhanced with a classy trim that emphasises its stylish shape.
The rear of the Vespa S has an all-new sleek, simple look with a new tail light designed especially to enhance its sportiness.
With its minimalist but decisive styling, simple yet elegant design, the Vespa S features the same dynamism and freshness that made the Vespa the favorite scooter of young people in the seventies.
