iBite Sports Car Concept with Ocean as The Inspiration

The new car concept design by Iman Maghsoudi for Local Motors Competition is named as iBite and as the name suggests it sure bites some metal. The overall design as per the designers is nothing but improvising on the Toyota Prius Hybrid platform as the base and just developing the same along with other beauties thus resulting in a designer marvel. After using that as the base platform, add to it the design elements of Lotus 7 and then on top of it placing two surfing boards as the part of its body panel and voila, one can see that the car is ready to fly!

Green Cars: Koenigsegg Quant. A Solar Electric Sports Car

The Solar Car designed by Koenigsegg is being compared with an Electric Batmobile. Koenigsegg is a high-end car maker of Sweden and have just made the demonstration of their electric solar car NLV Quant in Geneva. This car is able to go 0-62 mph in just 5.2 seconds with 512hp. It takes only 20 minutes to charge full however, not all through solar. It’s true that electric sports cars are not being manufactured by Koenigsegg for the first time, but they are the one who are using solar panels for the first time onto it. Koenigsegg is delivering sports cars for decades and this solar car is one of their most superior creations.

Lotus Hot Wheels Concept is an open-top sports car

Hot Wheels fans have a lot to be happy for. Hot Wheels® has decided to develop and produce the Lotus Hot Wheels® Concept vehicle. The elegant and aesthetically designed Lotus is a open-top two seat sports car and reminds you of the car fantasy with which you might have grown up while playing with Hot Wheels. Since the concept had to work as a toy, the designers had to keep children’s tastes in mind but were rather free from legal and technical constraints that usually come with designing full size cars. The Lotus, which measures 75cms, can be recognized as a Lotus and a Hot Wheels without having to turn it around. It comes with the trademark Lotus ‘mouth’ and the shrink-wrapped body is kept to minimum to keep it as light as possible. Large side intakes were put in place for a more airy environment for the engines. The Lotus company also seemed to be really pleased with the final outcome and they are themselves going to launch their latest range of cars sometime soon.

Audi Makaon Speedsailor by Bjorn Wehrli

With fossil fuel reserves depleting at a fast pace, industrial designers have put their bets on renewable sources of energy such as wind and solar that will be able to fuel the future generations. Auto designer Björn Wehrli believes that wind energy has all the credentials that high-speed cars of tomorrow need and has come up with a concept vehicle dubbed the Audi Makaon Speedsailor that uses this renewable form of energy to perfection.

Conceived for the year 2040, the vehicle features a two-seat layout that can be utilized by a driver and a sailor. The duo will have to work together to position the sail system perfectly to maximize energy efficiency. The seating compartment can be repositioned to balance the vehicle when strong winds try to tilt it.

The vehicle’s onboard systems are supplemented by a solar-powered airship that monitors the vehicle’s performance and assists the driver by relaying the track information. The sustainable drone is equipped with a camera and several sensors that can record the vehicle’s run and its overall performance.

Since the vehicle is designed to run on unconventional sources of fuel, the overall weight had to be minimized. The designer hopes to build the vehicle from lightweight but strong materials, while giving it an aerodynamic shape that minimizes drag and betters the efficiency of the vehicle.

SnowMobile: An angry snow scooter

At the first glance, the SnowMobile appears to be a frowning, angry, snow scooter with an aggressive stance, and with an impressive presence. The snow scooter is stylish and well built, with tracks at the front and skis at the rear. There’s also space to hold your skis when you go for a fun-ride to the slopes. Details on the design are scarce, but we hope it has a powerful motor that matches it’s aggressive stance. The design is a product of the team at Dominic Schindler creations.
