Project Nomad takes driving to its ancient roots

Project Nomad, Jason Battersby, Concept Vehicle, Concept Car, Futurism
Project Nomad from Jason Battersby is about the “ultimate driving experience” and the concept is a powerful machine that could very well be an animal. The futuristic concept takes an animal-like shape, and the driver sits atop the concept as a person would sit on a horse. There are hand and foot controls on the concept to drive it in a way similar to motorcycles.

The Nomad not only looks like a beast, it moves like one too: on its legs. That makes it exceptionally well suited for off-roading and adventures. The concept includes a helmet and survival pack for the rider, which will find good use in the off-roading adventures it is intended for. GPS helps the Nomad to locate the best routes and its fuel source, which brings us to a very interesting part. The concept feeds on vegetation and uses it as a fuel; something that is not likely to happen. Nevertheless, it goes well with the idea and purpose of the concept, and that probably makes it worth it all.

Air Alien Green Helicopter concept by Cikaric Dragan

Air Alien Green Helicopter, Cikaric Dragan
Designed by Cikaric Dragan, this Air Alien Green Helicopter concept is powered by an electric motor and comprises a stator with two large electromagnetic rings. Its two giant fuel tanks filled with hydrogen and oxygen generate electricity for the electric motor.
The helicopter has two propellers with permanent magnetic rings rotating separately against each other. It’s a zero emission helicopter with magnetic levitation properties that produce very little noise, making it an ideal safari. Checkout more images after the jump.

The whole operation of the helicopter is controlled by a computer. The helicopter has a four feet structure that has a duel role – works as leg flaps when helicopter is lifted above the ground and landing gears when it lends.

Additionally, the angle of the legs is also a key factor for generating speed and to turn helicopter in the desired direction. The whole helicopter will be made from carbon fiber and that is going to play a major role in making this machine more efficient.

Dune Tracer – For Cool Rides in Deserts

Dune Tracer, Desert vehicle, Desino-art

This one of a kind vehicle is dubbed Dune Tracer and is dreamed at diseno-art.com. Conceived as a recreational vehicle, Dune Tracer is a vehicle for one person and is especially designed to ferry in desert areas.

Dune Tracer can be operated like a tank at the low speed of approximately 20mph and can rotate around its own axis as well. Whereas on high speed, its tracks functions like a normal car wheels and front ones provides the steering function.

On the other, the inspiration for the vehicle came from many sources: desert beetles and WWII fighter planes which displayed graphics and paintwork. With its engine mounted behind the driver, Dune Tracer has conventional foot pedals for throttle and braking and two individual joysticks to steer it around.

This ultimate concept has multiple air vents and intakes that keep the vehicle cool in the hot deserts. Also, the integrated air conditioning system keeps the driver cool despite the face that it’s an open cockpit vehicle.

Mercedes-Benz BlitzenBenz concept car by George Yoo

Mercedes-Benz BlitzenBenz
Brilliant and outstanding is what every car lover will exclaim when will see this BlitzenBenz concept car. Created by George Yoo as a futuristic racing vehicle, BlitzenBenz concept is derived from two different sources. And let me tell you the roots of its design are in the past. The main inspiration behind the idea is from original Blitzen-Benz from 1909 that had a long tubular shape and rear cab positioning. On the other, Alex Erlandson work of creating sculptures from trees that were grown into certain shapes/patterns influenced Yoo considerably to contemplate what if automotive parts were to be grown and tamed to hold certain shapes. More Images after the jump.
The exterior design is a base for the organic structure and the individual wheel pods are there to sense as to when the inside electric motors need to be cooled down. When the cooling will be required, these structures will open up in the same way as the plants do to receive the vital sunlight. To run this Mercedes-Benz BlitzenBenz, there is an advanced next-generation Hygenius hybrid hydrogen engine and four in-wheel electric motors. The inspiration for the blue lightening system came from bioluminescent capabilities of deep sea creatures. Also, a hydrogen storage tank is just below the cockpit and the fuel level is shown in a small window. Though, woefully, there is no technology to make this vehicle as such, but the progressing research into nanotechnology will surely open the way for components that can be grown than manufactured, changing the way cars will be built or maintained in future.
